Our 'Naked' range is totally nitrate free & sugar free. The products are cured with salt, water and home-grown, spray free rosemary. naturally smoked with organic chestnut woodchips.

What are nitrates you may ask? That typical 'pink' appearance that you see with many cured pork products such as bacon and ham is not natural, and is actually a result of preservatives known as nitrates being added to the meat! We've taken out all of the nasties in our 'Naked' range to offer you the cleanest and most tastiest ham in Perth!

Naked Ham Full Leg

I have been buying ham for our Christmas festivities for about 30 years and hands down this was the best one EVER. I loved the fact is was smokey and tasty without the fake colour and sugar. Book me in for Christmas 2023 please.

The taste was great but it carved a little unexpectedly without the typical pink flesh. It was white/grey. Not sure if this is just typical for nitrate fee.

Nitrates are preservatives and colour enhancers added to proteins to keep them visually attractive. Proteins discolour during the curing process where salt and/or salt water are added to them to prolong shelf life. As you purchased a Nitrate-Free ham, the colour you describe is consistent with how it should/will look.
